Marco Gualtieri is a mathematician famous for his trailblazing contributions to generalised geometry.
As a Professor in Toronto since 2008 and an ICREA professor at UPC in Barcelona, he has recently moved to Barcelona. He will visit Hamburg as a Mercator Fellow from February to April 2026 to collaborate with researchers of the CRC 1624. One of the scientific areas of common interest is homological algebra and generalised geometry as studied in the joint project of Vicente Cortés and Julian Holstein. The planned activities include a series of CRC lectures on generalised Kähler manifolds in the Research Seminar on Differential Geometry and a talk in the Colloquium on Pure Mathematics on April 14.
